On Sunday, July 8th 2007, our 5th portable activation from Goeree-Overflakkee island took place.
We’d decided to do things a bit different than before this time; we wanted to find out if working with PSK-31 was a good idea. So Willem, PA1WVM, tried his best to help everyone to a “new one” in this mode as PA1WVM/p. Unfortunately, conditions were very poor and not too many stations were logged.

As for me, I wasn’t too active this time. I’ve spend my time enjoying the sun ;-) But since 10 MHz wasn’t given much attention to the previous times we went to Goeree, I felt obligated to give it a decent try on this band. So at 13:15z I started calling on 10.103 MHz and worked quite some stations from all across Europe. Stations in countries like DL, SM and SP were logged mostly, stations in other counties were logged in fewer numbers. No contacts were made with stations from outside of Europe this time, accept for one station from UA9. I kept going for 2 hours and logged a bit over 115 stations, sometimes even with a rather nice pile-up.

Since PSK-31 wasn’t profitable enough, we’ll be mostly active in other modes like CW again next time we’re on the island.
